ABVP Dominates! Delhi University Student Union Election 2023 Results – Live Updates: 3 Central Panel Wins, NSUI Leads 1

ABVP leads in three central panel positions, NSUI leads in one. The counting of votes for the Delhi University Students Union elections is currently in progress, and the results for all four central panel positions, including president, vice-president, secretary, and joint secretary, are anticipated to be announced shortly.

There are twenty-four candidates contending in the elections. The DUSU elections were last conducted in 2019, with the polls being postponed in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and disruptions in the academic calendar preventing their conduct in 2022. Chander Shekhar, the chief election officer for the polls, has reported a voter turnout of 42 percent, with approximately one lakh eligible students casting their votes.

Elections for the central panel at 52 colleges and departments were conducted electronically through EVMs, while voting for college union polls employed paper ballots. DUSU serves as the primary representative body for the majority of colleges and faculties, with each college also having its own students’ union, for which elections are held annually.

• At 16:40 (IST) on Sep 23, ABVP is leading in three out of the four central panel positions of the Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU). The ABVP is in the lead for the position of DUSU president, while the NSUI is leading for the position of vice president. Additionally, the ABVP is ahead for the positions of Secretary and Joint Secretary by a significant margin.
• At 16:01 (IST) on Sep 23, after the 20th round of counting, the ABVP is leading in three seats, while the NSUI is leading in one.

• Joint Secretary: ABVP – 15,332, NSUI – 8,811
• At 14:51 (IST) on Sep 23, it was reported that the RSS-affiliated ABVP was leading in three out of the four central panel positions of the Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) after 14 rounds of counting. For the position of DUSU president, the ABVP and the NSUI are engaged in a closely contested battle, with the former leading by 2,200 votes. While the NSUI is leading for the position of vice president, the ABVP holds a significant lead for the positions of secretary and joint secretary.
