Lone, a resident of the quaint Waghama village in Bijbehara, earnestly expressed his yearning to personally meet the cricket maestro.

Acknowledging Amir’s exceptional skills, Tendulkar, now a fervent admirer, extended his desire to meet this inspirational cricketer in person, with the added wish to acquire a jersey as a cherished memento.

At the age of 34, Amir takes the helm of the Para cricket team of Jammu and Kashmir, showcasing a playing style that stands as a beacon of inspiration for all cricket enthusiasts. Amir’s journey into professional cricket commenced in 2013 when a discerning teacher recognized his latent talent and introduced him to the world of Para Cricket.

Amir’s life took a transformative turn at the tender age of eight when a life-altering accident claimed both his arms at his father’s mill. Undeterred by this adversity, he innovatively developed a cricket technique utilizing his legs for bowling and relying on his shoulder and neck for batting.

In response to Sachin’s tweet, Amir expressed his elation, stating, “I am genuinely overjoyed. Sachin sharing and commending my life story fills me with happiness. I aspire to meet him soon. Since my childhood, Sachin sir has been my favorite, and his inspiration still resonates with me today. This is a matter of immense pride for Jammu and Kashmir and my district, Anantnag. Words fail to capture my happiness. I never envisaged such a moment would unfold.”

The retired Indian batsman, deeply moved after witnessing a video featuring Lone’s cricket prowess, expressed his amazement and congratulated him for becoming an inspiration to millions.

Earlier, in a conversation with ANI, Hussain Lone delved into his life post-accident, highlighting the lack of governmental support during those challenging times.

“After the accident, I refused to succumb to despair and toiled relentlessly. I can independently manage everything, not relying on anyone. Unfortunately, post-accident, there was no assistance from the government. My family, however, stood by me,” Amir disclosed to ANI.

The 34-year-old further elucidated on the astonishment he evokes while playing without hands.

“I participated in the national tournament in Delhi in 2013, and in 2018, I played an international match against Bangladesh. Subsequently, I played cricket in Nepal, Sharjah, and Dubai. People were astonished witnessing me bowl with my legs and bat with my shoulder and neck. I attribute my ability to play cricket to the strength given by God,” the cricketer affirmed.

Amir shared that he receives accolades wherever he goes to play cricket.

“I have garnered applause for my game in every venue, and I believe it’s a result of divine intervention that my hard work paid off. Bowling from the legs poses significant challenges, but I’ve acquired all the skills and techniques. I handle every task independently, relying only on God,” Amir emphasized.

Amir Hussain Lone expressed his admiration for Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli, labeling them as his team’s favorite players.

“Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli are the idols for us, and if fate allows, we will meet them soon,” he concluded.
